James L. Evers, age 74, of Louisville, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving wife and family, from complications of pancreatitis. He was born October 22, 1943 to the late Don and Ella Evers. He was a faithful member of the Easton Chapel United Methodist Church. Jim was a proud Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was a service manager for Stark Sports Cars and Romick/Sypolt Chevrolet and a service technician at Ewing Chevrolet. There wasn’t anything this “jack of all trades” couldn’t fix. If he wasn’t working on a car he was building something. He always gave of his time liberally to anyone, even when he was dealing with Crohn’s Disease for over 40 years. Jim never complained, even at his sickest, and he was the most patient man we knew. There wasn’t anyone who didn’t love this sweet, humble, gentle man.
Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cindy; a daughter, Melissa (Mike) Treen; three grandchildren, Logan, Sarah and Megan; two brothers, Don (Ella) Evers Jr, and Ron (Linda) Evers; Two sisters, Barbara (Ray) Ott and Carol (Dave) Haynes. He has fought a good fight and he has finished the course. II Timothy 4:7.
Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday at Easton Chapel with Rev. Steve Nelson officiating. Calling hours will be 6-8pm Tuesday evening at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville and one hour before the services at the church Wed. morning. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park, Canton, OH.
