Peggy Ann (McDade) (Gula) Burwell, age 85, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 after long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born July 18, 1935 in Beaver, PA to the late George and Margaret McDade. Peg worked in food service at St. Joseph Care Center and retired from Louisville Schools, as Food Service Director, after 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Burwell, in 2010; her brother Dr George McDade Jr and a grandson, Timothy Friesner. Peggy is survived by three children, George Ronald (Julie) Gula Jr, Bruce (Karen) Gula, Kim (Jack) Friesner; 13 grandchildren, Angela (Rob) Emmons, Christopher (Jess) Friesner, Melissa (Ryan) Reinford, Michael (Gina) Gula, Beth (James) Huprich, Allison (Josh) Wilson, George Gula, Kristen Gula, Stephanie Nash, Stephen John Burwell, William Burwell, Cameron Burwell, Nicole Sollazzo; 18 great-grandchildren; her brother, Marshall McDade; four step-children, Steve Burwell, Tamara (Maurizio) Sollazzo, Mike (Ginger) Burwell and Debra Cooksey; and several step-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Bethany Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care that was given to our mother.

Due to COVID-19, a private family service was held at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Pastor Rick Brown officiating.
