October 29, 1936 ~ October 12, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Marilyn Ann (Shank) Geiser, age 80, passed away at her home from congestive heart failure in North Canton, OH on Thursday, October 12, 2017.  A loving, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.  Marilyn was a life-long resident of Ohio, raised in Louisville, living in Cleveland Heights, Twin Cities, Salem, Wooster, Kidron, and North Canton.  She was born at Mercy Hospital in Canton on October 29, 1936 to Roy and Mabel (Hilty) Shank, the eldest of six children.  A 1954 graduate of Louisville High School and later as a trained Medical Technician from Cleveland Technical School.  Married on September 13, 1958 to Gilbert Geiser, son of Allen and Ophra (Gerber) Geiser in Kidron, OH.  Retired employee of Art’s Jewelry, former employee of Miller’s Merchandise, Molly Stark Hospital, Wooster Hospital, Salem Hospital, and Martin Ferry’s Hospital.  Active member of the Church of God Worldwide Association, noting previous membership with United Church of God, Worldwide Church of God, Radio Church of God, Kidron Mennonite Church and Beech Mennonite Church.  She enjoyed music, participating in choir at church as well as the annual Choir Music Conference (CMC). Advocate for education, always reading and learning to teach others in domestic skills, gardening, community service, along with history, genealogy, medicine and current events.  With her family, she traveled widely throughout the U.S., and internationally into Canada, Bahamas, England, and Europe.

Survived by her husband, Gilbert Geiser; 6 children: Kevin Geiser of North Canton, Lorin Geiser of North Canton , Greg (Tawnya) Geiser of Spokane, WA, Karen Geiser of West Hollywood, CA, Diane (Eric) Frantz of Jefferson, OH, Mark (Shawn) Geiser of Hickory, NC; 13 grandchildren: Zachary Geiser of Winston-Salem, NC, Morgan Frantz of Kent, OH, Zane Geiser of Hickory, NC, Trevor Frantz of Jefferson, OH, Jake Geiser of Hickory, NC, Stuart Frantz of Jefferson, OH, Makayla Frantz of Jefferson, OH, Lidya Frantz of MI,  Josh Schneiderman of Spokane, WA, Collin Becker of South Korea, Shelby Jefferson of Lancaster, CA, Trevor Jefferson of Veradale, WA; 1 great grandchild: Zoey Fink; 5 siblings: Anna Mae (Lamar) Lantz of Mesa, AZ, Kenneth (Sarah) Shank of Sharon, SC, Donald (Terri) Shank of Cincinnati, OH; Jean (Ken) Witalis of North Canton, OH, Deborah (Lloyd) Patterson of Alexandria, VA; 4 brothers-in-laws: Amos (Erma) Geiser of Kidron, OH, Sylvester (Lynda) Geiser of Orrington, ME, Daniel (Pru) Geiser of Apple Creek, OH, Ray (Carol) Geiser of Wooster, OH; 2 sisters-in-laws: Esther (Lloyd) Lehman of Dalton, OH, Doris (Dave) Miller of Wooster, OH; 28 nieces & nephews.  Predeceased by parents, Roy and Mable Shank; granddaughter, Katelyn Frantz; brother-in-laws, Nathan Geiser and Frank Geiser; sister-in-laws, Pru Geiser and Lynda Geiser.

Private family interment conducted at Beech Mennonite Cemetery on Saturday, October 14th, arranged with Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville.  Family and friends are invited to The Memorial Funeral Service with reception to follow on Saturday, October 21st at 1:00 p.m. to be held at Beech Mennonite Church located at 10037 Easton St, Louisville, OH 44641. One of her favorite life scripture was, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which comes to us through Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
