Ivan W. Krabill, age 77, of Massillon, passed away at the Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center, on Tuesday, August 1st, 2017, from a quiet and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Ivan was born at home in Washington Township on November 22nd, 1939 to the late Allen and Della Krabill. He attended Washington Township Grade School and graduated from Louisville High School in 1957. He was raised in Maximo, Ohio and then became a Massillon resident and loyal Tiger fan. Ivan was a graduate of the University of Akron and was employed by the Mclain Grocery Company for many years until opening his own I.G. A. Grocery Store in Green, Ohio and then Oakwood Wine and Spirits in Plain Township. Ivan was recently employed by Easterday’s Flower & Gift Shop and enjoyed brightening recipients’ days with floral deliveries. Ivan was inducted into the Fumbleball Hall of Fame and also played with the Akron Silver League. He was an avid Massillon Tigers fan and a member of the Massillon Tiger Sideliners and Masonic Star Lodge 187 of Cuyahoga Falls. As a member of the Shriners, he transported numerous children for treatment along with their families to the Shriners Hospital in Erie, PA. Ivan is survived by his daughter, Kari (Austin) Kaufman of Millersburg and his son, Allen of Massillon, his loving Companion and Caregiver, Rita Haines of Massillon; grandsons Dylan and Braden and granddaughter Callie; one brother, Donald (Vivian) of Alliance, brother in law Ed Pugh of Louisville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Berdine Pugh and two brothers, Wayne and Wilford Krabill. There will be no calling hours. A Masonic Service will be held on Tuesday, August 8th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service led by Pastor Matt Reed at 11:00 a.m. at the Beech Mennonite Church, 10037 Easton Street, Louisville, Ohio with burial in the church cemetery.
